On Sunday, March 9, there will be an opening reception from 1-3:30 pm for my solo show at Ohio Dominican University’s Wehrle gallery. The Wehrle gallery is located at 1216 Sunbury Road in Columbus, Ohio. The title of the show is ‘the distance between us’, and it will feature new mobiles and paintings. The show runs from March 9 through April 20, 2008. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 10 am -3 pm.
Toledo Children’s Hospital has my large-scale commissioned mobile in the lobby. The size of the space is 40′x30′, and the ceiling is 40′ high. The work was installed in December, and the official opening was in January, so pictures of the work can now be viewed! It’s the biggest piece I’ve worked on so far, and it looks beautiful.
In December I also installed artwork at the Ypsilanti library in Michigan. I am very fond of libraries, so I’m happy to have the work in such a great place.
In March and April I will be working on a large commissioned outdoor piece. It’s made of aluminum, and will be painted. A welding shop is helping me make it, which is a good thing, since welding wasn’t my favorite or most successful skill to learn in college. Once the work is unveiled, I will have pictures on the site.
